Rollei 35 — Accessories & Spare Parts

Lens hoods, battery solutions, and tools for the Rollei 35 camera family. Every part is made by us in Germany and tailored to the specific model variant — whether classic 35, 35T with Tessar optics, or 35S with Sonnar.

Which accessories fit which model?

The Rollei 35 family at a glance

The Rollei 35 comes in many variants — but for choosing accessories, the lens is the key factor. Two groups dominate:

  • Tessar models (Rollei 35, 35 T, 35 TE, B35) — 24mm filter thread, Carl Zeiss Tessar 3.5/40mm or Triotar
  • Sonnar models (Rollei 35 S, 35 SE) — 30.5mm filter thread, Carl Zeiss Sonnar 2.8/40mm
  • Rollei XF 35 — special model with PX625 battery compartment, requires its own battery adapter

Attention: The lens hoods are not interchangeable. Tessar models need the 24mm version, Sonnar models the 30.5mm version. When in doubt: check the bottom of the lens — the filter thread size is indicated there.

Lens hoods & filter adapters

The Rollei 35 was delivered without a lens hood. A design flaw? More like a compromise for the compact design. Anyone wanting to improve contrast and color rendition needs a hood — and it must fit the lens.

Model assignment

  • 24mm → Rollei 35
  • 24mm → Rollei 35 T
  • 24mm → Rollei 35 TE
  • 24mm → Rollei B35
  • 30.5mm → Rollei 35 S
  • 30.5mm → Rollei 35 SE

Why a lens hood?

The Tessar and Sonnar are both non-retrofocus designs with relatively few coating layers — typical for the 1960s-70s. Stray light hits hard here. A matching lens hood reduces flares and restores the contrast the glass can actually deliver. The 24mm version also includes a filter adapter.

Battery & light meter

The CdS light meter of the Rollei 35 is infamous: without a cover, it constantly draws power. Our battery saver cover solves the problem without modifying the camera.

The battery compartment trap of the Rollei 35

The CdS sensor of the Rollei 35 is directly connected to the battery — there’s no real off switch. When the camera sits on the shelf, power still flows. The PX625 cell only lasts a few weeks instead of months. The battery saver cover physically and visually breaks the circuit. Just snap it on — no more battery change stress.

3

Rollei XF 35 — Battery compartment cover

The Rollei XF 35 is a special case within the Rollei 35 family: larger, with zone focusing and a PX625 mercury battery that hasn’t been available for decades.

Why a new cover?

The original PX625 cover is often lost or corroded. Our adapter integrates the contacts directly into the cover and uses affordable 675 zinc-air cells as the power source. They deliver exactly 1.35V — the exact voltage the light meter was calibrated for. No conversions, no exposure errors.

4

Tools & Accessories

The Rollei 35 battery compartment can only be opened with a special pin. Standard tools don’t fit — that’s why we made our own precision stainless steel tool.

Also fits other cameras

Besides the Rollei 35, this tool works with all cameras featuring the typical slot battery compartment opening. This includes Canon F-1 (old and new), Olympus OM-1/OM-2, Nikon F, and many more. The 1.7mm stainless steel pin fits exactly into the slot without damaging the delicate thread.

Batteries & Consumables

Compatible replacement batteries for the Rollei 35 family — so the light meter keeps running.
